Privacy Policy

Overview

Apple requires all apps distributed through iOS to disclose data practices clearly. BankShot is a tracking-only app for logging hours, managing earning categories, and displaying dashboard insights. It does not process payments or financial transactions.

Data We Collect

BankShot collects minimal information required for tracking functionality:

  • Logged hours and dates

  • Selected activity or category types

  • Hourly rate settings (locally stored)

  • Dashboard calculations showing earned, saved, owed, and marked-paid status (for your tracking only)

  • Account email 

 

How We Use the Data

Collected data is used solely to:

  • Display total logged hours

  • Calculate earnings and savings for visualization on the dashboard

  • Track outstanding amounts owed and approved hours marked as paid outside the app

  • Maintain a history of hours logged vs. payments completed externally

  • Support customizable activity types and hourly rate adjustments set by a parent or guardian

 

Where Your Data Lives

  • All tracking data is stored locally on the device by default

  • Optional backup or syncing uses encrypted cloud storage when enabled (no actual banking data is ever transmitted)

  • We do not store credit cards, social security numbers, locations, or payment credentials

 

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, share, or transfer user data to anyone. e.g.,

  • Advertisers

  • Data brokers

  • Third-party analytics platforms

  • Outside financial apps

Parents or guardians may view a minor’s logged hours and activity types within the shared dashboard by design.

 

Children’s Privacy

  • The app may be used by minors under the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian

  • We intentionally collect no personal identifiers beyond display names

  • No financial transactions occur in the app, ensuring data remains non-banking metadata only

  • Parents can manage activity categories and hourly rates in settings

 

Your Choices & Controls

Users can:

  • View logged hours, earnings, and history in the shared dashboard

  • Update activity categories and hourly rate settings (with parent oversight)

  • Request data deletion at any time

  • Delete all locally stored data from the app by selecting Reset Tracking Data in settings

 

Data Security

We protect all stored information by:

  • Encrypting any cloud backup data end-to-end

  • Using secure iOS storage standards recommended by App Store Review Guidelines

  • Limiting data collection to the minimum required to operate a tracking dashboard

Account Deletion & Retention

  • You may erase your tracking data directly in settings

  • You may also request account deletion by contacting us

  • Deleted data cannot be recovered

  • We retain no server-side financial or payment records
